The design of Umpqua Bank South Lake Union is deeply influenced by its surroundings. The South Lake Union neighborhood is a bustling hub for technology, innovation, public art, and active living. The store's design mirrors this energy, creating a space that not only facilitates financial transactions but also encourages the exchange of ideas and inspiration. The store hosts events to further engage the community, establishing itself as a central part of the neighborhood's vibrant spirit.
What sets this design apart is its unique blend of form and function. The exterior of the store mirrors the contemporary architecture of the neighborhood, inviting passersby into the space. Inside, guests can enjoy free coffee, read, share ideas, access Wi-Fi, and browse apps on the app wall. The Community Wall displays Umpqua products and services as well as in-store events, and three conference meeting rooms are available for free reservation, making the store a versatile space for the community.
The design of the store was realized with energy efficiency in mind. The materials and systems used in the project reflect this commitment to sustainability. The space was also designed to be versatile, capable of hosting various types of community events. This balance between high performance and inviting design is evident throughout the store.
